American Political Cinema is an elective course designed to provide a wide-ranging introduction to the portrayal of American political issues in the media from the silent era to the present. Students will study how a variety of media including American movies, documentary films, political music, and presidential TV advertising reflect who we are as a nation and highlight the astonishing diversity of American political ideas. This course will primarily focus on helping students develop their discussion, evaluative and analytical skills.
